My Story
Cynthia Gant is a retired Analytical Chemist, (25 years Brewing Chemist in the Brewing Research and
Quality Assurance Division of Miller Brewing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and 7 years Research
Scientist for Alcon Laboratories in Fort Worth, Texas) retired Registered Medical Technologist MT(ASCP)
and retired Colonel after serving 28 years in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Service Corps. Cynthia
started playing the trumpet in the 6th grade at James E. Guinn Elementary and Junior High School. She
continued playing trumpet through her high school years as a member of I. M. Terrell High School’s
marching, concert and dance bands in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2008 Cynthia joined the Alcon Jazz Ensemble while employed in Alcon Laboratories’ Research and
Development Division. Cynthia is member of the Maxwell Hall Jazz Band’s Board of Directors and has
served as the band’s Music Librarian since 2011. Cynthia has a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Biology/Medical Technology and Master of Science Degree in Microbiology from Texas Woman’s
University in Denton, Texas.
